About Me:
Frances Marrington is a Melbourne / Brisbane-based actor who has just returned from 6 months studying and travelling the world. While overseas, she trained principally with SITI in New York, and Su-En Butoh Company in Sweden. She has been based in Melbourne for the last few years, with stints in Tasmania to work on the Round Earth Company's show "The Ship That Never Was", but she has now returned to Brisbane to complete a six-month internship with Zen Zen Zo. This course will culminate in the butoh show Zeitgeist. She plans to travel between Brisbane and Melbourne for auditions and work post-internship.
Frances has worked in independent theatre and film nationally; and also works as a photographic model; voice-over artist; party host; MC; and roving character. Highlights in her career to date include: undertaking a summer intensive with Anne Bogart's SITI company; independently producing and performing "Picasso's Women" at the Butterfly Club; producing and acting in Eagle's Nest Theatre's double-bill of "Hamlet" and "Oedipus"; scaring punters silly in "Prison Break Live" at Luna Park Melbourne; puppeteering for "Sad Bird Boy and Other Dreams of the City" (International Puppet Carnival 2006); directing Rapunzel, a group-devised work, with Zen Zen Zo; performing in "Eight Days" for theatre in decay at the Adelaide Fringe; and hosting the interactive murder mystery game "The Auction". Frances trained at QUT in Brisbane, and in the BDA at VCA in Melbourne. Her first feature film, 'Watch Me", in which she plays the lead character of Tess, has just been released to DVD in the US. Frances is always on the look out for interesting new projects; and is only too happy to travel for auditions and work.
